Online members (1)

First, and most importantly, SoT requires a certain personality, This clan is very special, as are it's members, It is based on the twisted, bizarre, and just plain crazy, and so our most of our members XD

Our Members love what we have going, and many devote all their available time with this clan. In game or on the forums, our members are friendly, cunning and (IMO) funny as hell XD (Some really good people ;))

Networks:

Members are required to at least make profiles for all networks SoT belong to (and join group if applicable) I know its a lot of work at first, but there is very little maintenance on member's side.

Members are not required to be constantly active across all these networks, however activity on all networks is highly recommended and overall activity is necessary (Activity is judged by Clan Managers only, but any member can bring it to the CM's attention).

If you are not going to use a network for whatever reason, you should have somewhere posted that you use another network instead.

Each Network Plays a role, and each member is expected to use that network for that role.

Network Roles:

Enjin - Main platform for important but not urgent discussions, news, events and resources for the games/things we support. This should be checked as frequently as possible, and members are encouraged to start discussions on whatever they see fit.

Xfire - This is the main communications platform for immediate contact. This will be used for meetings of all sorts, from management to match warmups. Xfire is also used for screenshots of matches/ personal scores.

Steam - Same as Xfire, some members prefer one or the other. Personally I prefer Steam for communication, and although Xfire supports more features like screenshots and live video, steam is required by some games, so we continue to use both platforms.

Team Speak - This is used mostly for clan matches and training, for voice command tactics, but also often used by members to just voice chat while playing together.

Windows Live - Most Members know what kind of pressure Microsoft puts on its clients to use it's live network. But it turns out Live supports more features than any of the competing networks (Google, aim, yahoo) Such as *free* calendar, contact, and file synchronization, as well as live messenger is widely supported. Also, you can connect with other networks through live, such as Facebook and MySpace, and get updates and more. (and of course find those people on live)

Your Live ID (as we as AIM) can be added to Xfire and you can chat with windows live contacts just like Xfire ones. This is extremely useful for mobile applications (Xfire to phone)

Gametracker - Stat tracking for dedicated servers with full profiles and clan pages. Although most games are moving away from dedicated servers :(

Facebook - Show us who you are !! And show the world who we are !! Facebook is great for learning more about members, as well as is very popular and could get us some recognition.

All members: (Combat Operatives and up)

And Once you are a Member:

All you have to do after that is game XD Clan Wars and Events are optional, but are again recommended and viewed as overall activity. 5 hours a week average gaming hours are a bare minimum (Official Supported games only count).

Our Clan Believes in Death Before Dishonor (At least in game)

We do not hack, cheat, camp, or use anything that gives one team/player a large advantage over the other(s)

We do not put down players, or make excuses for why we are losing. We play fair and enjoy the game whatever the outcome.

Combat Coordinator's Duties:

  1. Motivate/invite members to play games. This includes new members as well ;)
  1. Motivate/invite members to use other networks, tools, and chat. I.E. team speak or Facebook, to get all members on a more personal basis.
  1. Use the website to communicate all admin duties and to look for new updates. (Coordinators should check this more often than most members)
  1. Answer any questions and requests to join in game, or anywhere else, as well as process new applications via the forums. All recruits must be cleared by a CM before official membership.
  1. Organize trainings periodically as well as organize matches with other clans, as well as consider suggested events by members.
  1. (Optional) Organize events outside of the ordinary clan wars. Be creative ;)
  1. (Optional) Suggest new ideas and/or improvements to the site or clan. Your input as Coordinator is valued.
  1. (Optional) Try to recruit players that would fit well into SoT, and good skills don’t hurt. ;)

Section Coordinator's Duties: (In addition to Combat Coordinator's)

  1.  Nominate for promotion and suggest demotion of officers (Per your section), accordingly. All promotions/demotions must be cleared by a Council
  1. Leading and manage officers, sometimes this means sometimes having to overrule officer's decisions . (SC's have a VETO-right within their section, only to be overruled by Clan Council members)
  1. Inform Clan Managers of inactive members, member breaking rules, or otherwise unacceptable member behavior.
  1. Track you game's news, updates, addons, ect. These should be posted on the Enjin news blog not the forums.
  1. (optional) Create a policy specific to that game, specifying rules or adding them per game need. (Only over -ruled by Clan Council)
  1. (optional) Have multiple Section Coordinators increases availability and reduces the time needed to do all tasks

Clan Manager's Duties:

  1. Contribute, Support, and carry out requests/decisions of Clan Council.
  1. Support of Section Leaders, officers and (new) players (Follow up officer duties)
  1. Maintain and improve the website and networks.
  1. Moderate the forum (if necessary)
  1. Update information on Xfire, Steam, Enjin Modules, as well as other networks.
  1. (Optional) SoT update: Give a frequent update in the members section on what has been going on and what has been decided.
  1. (Restriction) Clan managers cannot make MAJOR* decisions on their own.

*Major decisions are made by clan council.

Clan Council's Duties:

Let's Just call this a beta.

The Council is an instrument for making major decisions that should not always be left to one person or group.

The Council consists of Clan Managers, Section Coordinators, and other members below in rank who were chosen. Polls should be made for Council Promotions.

The Council can give (binding) instructions towards Clan Managers, Section Coordinators and officers.

Specific clan-game related issues should be handled by their Section Coordinator and their officers; Only to be overruled by the Clan Council when there is internal conflict or questions about certain decisions.

The Council should hold gatherings/conversations at least every month.

(Restriction) Binding decisions (and instructions) can only take place if the majority of the Council agrees with the decision. Also it should report this in a clear way on the officers forum.

Certain important decisions require full scheduled council meetings,  some examples:

  1. Decisions on issues that concern the clan's rules or Policies
  1. Adding and/or removing supported games
  1. Vote for proposed ranks of members, when necessary.
  1. Distribution and management of clan funds and purchases
  1. Vote for proposed Clan Manager
  1. Resolving internal conflict
  1. REMOVAL of a member
